Inspection & Verification

AutoLantic helps customers reduce the risks involved in purchasing vehicles and automotive parts from distant sellers. Depending on the transaction, we can coordinate appropriate identity, history, condition, and compatibility checks before presenting an option for your approval.

What We May Verify

The checks required depend on the vehicle or part, its value, the seller, available records, and the customer’s instructions. Verification may include:

  • Seller and listing review
  • VIN or chassis-number confirmation
  • Vehicle specification checks
  • Title and ownership-document review
  • Vehicle-history and odometer-record searches
  • Open safety-recall searches
  • Photographs, videos, and live viewing
  • Independent pre-purchase inspection
  • Mechanical and diagnostic evaluation
  • Parts-number and compatibility checks
  • Review of available purchase and export documents

Seller and Listing Review

We review available seller information and compare the advertisement with supporting photographs, documents, specifications, and other obtainable information. Where appropriate, we may request additional evidence or clarification before recommending that a customer proceed.

VIN and Vehicle Identity

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) or chassis number may be checked against the vehicle’s description and available records. This can help confirm details such as the make, model, model year, engine, manufacturing location, and other encoded specifications.

Any inconsistency requiring clarification will be brought to the customer’s attention before purchase.

Title and Vehicle-History Checks

Where records and suitable services are available, AutoLantic may obtain or coordinate searches relating to:

  • Title status and title brands
  • Reported odometer readings
  • Salvage, flood, rebuilt, or total-loss history
  • Reported theft or recovery information
  • Recorded accidents or damage
  • Previous registrations or ownership events
  • Available lien or ownership information

A vehicle-history report is an important screening tool, but it may not contain every incident, repair, ownership issue, or defect. It should therefore be considered together with supporting documents and a physical inspection whenever practicable.

Safety-Recall Checks

For vehicles intended for purchase in the United States, the VIN may be searched for available information about open safety recalls. Recall information can change, and customers should continue monitoring the vehicle after purchase and arrange any required manufacturer-authorized repairs.

Photographs, Videos, and Live Viewing

We may request recent photographs or videos showing the vehicle’s exterior, interior, engine compartment, instrument panel, VIN labels, tyres, underbody, startup, and operation.

For higher-value or unusual transactions, a live video viewing may also be requested when the seller agrees. Digital images and videos help with preliminary assessment but cannot reveal every defect.

Independent Pre-Purchase Inspection

When appropriate and available, AutoLantic may coordinate an inspection by an independent mechanic, inspection company, dealership, marque specialist, or other qualified service provider.

The inspection scope may include:

  • Bodywork, paint, glass, and visible structural condition
  • Interior equipment and electronic functions
  • Engine, transmission, steering, suspension, and brakes
  • Fluid condition and visible leaks
  • Tyres and wheels
  • Road testing, where permitted
  • Diagnostic scanning
  • Photographs and an inspection report

For exotic, luxury, classic, modified, or technically complex vehicles, we may recommend a specialist inspection appropriate to the marque and model.

Auto-Parts Verification

For parts-sourcing requests, verification may include comparing:

  • Part numbers and superseded numbers
  • VIN or chassis details
  • Vehicle make, model, year, trim, and engine
  • Photographs and identifying labels
  • Connector types, dimensions, and mounting points
  • New, used, remanufactured, aftermarket, or OEM condition
  • Seller-provided descriptions and warranties

Customers should supply complete and accurate vehicle and part information. Compatibility cannot be assessed reliably when essential details are missing or incorrect.

Your Verification Summary

Before purchase, AutoLantic will present the material information reasonably available from the agreed checks. This may include photographs, inspection findings, history information, identified concerns, estimated costs, and any recommended further action.

You can review the available information, request clarification, approve the option, or decline it. No purchase will be made on your behalf without your authorization and the agreed payment arrangements.

Important Limitations

Verification reduces risk but does not eliminate it. Inspections, reports, databases, photographs, and document reviews may not reveal concealed damage, intermittent faults, incomplete records, fraudulent alterations, future mechanical failure, or conditions outside the agreed inspection scope.

Third-party inspectors, databases, sellers, carriers, and government agencies provide their own information and services. AutoLantic cannot guarantee the completeness or accuracy of every third-party record or guarantee that a vehicle or part will remain free from problems after inspection or purchase.

Any significant limitation discovered during the process will be communicated so that you can make an informed decision.
